Schuler cutting trees

"It has been five years since we planted the fruit trees on our meadow in stockheim", recalls demand teacher siegbert jakob at the beginning of a tree-cutting campaign on the "gluck auf" (happiness) hill once used by schoolchildren!"- stockheim elementary school orchard.

The schoolchildren who are now caring for and nurturing the trees were not even present at the planting, but they are doing their work with enthusiasm and fun. In addition to the "normal the trees need a pruning once a year for the maintenance (making a gable ring, tying the trees and more). Wendelin vetter (windheim) and gerhard ramming (stockheim) are two experienced gardeners and tree specialists who like to support the schools in their free time. Hans vetter (tree warden from windheim) and gerhard ramming (horticultural association stockheim-wolfersdorf) support the schulers in this task every year. Already for the third time under her expert guidance the education cut was carried out.

On tuesday, they went out with students from classes 3a and 4a to maintain the school's orchard meadow. Together with the two experts, the students pruned their 15 fruit trees. They were particularly proud to report that they had already harvested their first fruit in september 2018.

For the first time, the 3a full-day class also supported this campaign. "They will take over our current tree sponsorship during the school year.", informed teacher siegbert jakob. "We will do some more projects together in this remaining school year."
