Headphone test: these on-ear and in-ear headphones perform well

In total, the testers took a close look at 113 wireless headphones. With such a huge range on offer, it’s difficult to get your bearings, but clear favorites have emerged. Take a look at the winners here.

What are bluetooth headphones?

Bluetooth headphones connect wirelessly to smartphones, laptops, tvs and other sources. Provided that this source has the possibility of a bluetooth connection. In this way, all kinds of media files can be played back via the headphones.

What was tested?

113 wireless bluetooth headphones were tested, both the classic bucket headphones, as well as the more modern in-ear headphones. Each of these headphones has a microphone into which you can speak, for example for telephone calls or video conferences, which means that they can also be used as a hands-free system. A special feature is the noise-canceling headphones, but only the in-ear headphones could be equipped with this feature.

What quality criteria have they been tested for?

The testers test the headphones for sound, interference, comfort and handling, bluetooth, durability and pollutants. In addition, the data transmission behavior of the app was also checked, provided that corresponding android or ios apps were offered for the headphones. For example, in which ausmab user data is passed on to the server.

In-ear or on/over-ear headphones, which is better??

In the past, the tiny in-ear headphones as qualitatively inferior than the coarser ones on-/over-ear- or also bucket headphones. However, this is no longer the case for the current models. On the contrary: especially for those who can’t get enough of deep bass, in-ear headphones are more suitable, as they provide a better seal against noise from the eaves.

Another advantage of in-ear headphones is that they are perfect for traveling, as they are very small and handy. Furthermore, in-ear headphones are particularly suitable for athletes, since – in addition to their handy size – they are non-slip and you don’t sweat as much with them as you do with earpieces. But some in-ear models can do even more: there are currently also headphones on the market that are lightly waterproof, i.E. Not affected by splash water. Especially for swimmers, this is an interesting variant.

A subcategory of bluetooth in-ear headphones are true-wireless-in-ear headphones. As the name implies, there is no connecting cable between the earpieces – the transmission between the two headphones is also exclusively wireless.

On the side of on- and over-ear headphones there is definitely a much longer battery life in some cases. In addition, the listening pleasure can be continued via audio cable even after the battery life has ended, which is not the case with the in-ear version. Another advantage is also the active noise reduction.
