Thousands protest against coal

Thousands of people protested against coal in the rhenish coalfield on saturday and disrupted the open pit mining operation – despite a large police presence.

According to police reports, some 2,500 young people sat down on the tracks of the transport train that brings coal from the rhenish open-cast mine of hambach to the power plants.

The activists wanted to paralyze the open-cast mining infrastructure in the rhenish mining area. Because some broke through a police cordon and ran across the A4 autobahn, it had to be closed for several hours. For the same reason, the train service between duren and aachen was temporarily suspended.

Courage and mercy captured in tone

Courage and mercy captured in tone

With the missa criolla by ariel ramirez, the paul-eber-kantorei under the direction of deanery cantor martin blaufelder will perform the mass on sunday, 19. May, at 7 p.M. A special work will be performed in the protestant town church of kitzingen, according to the press release.

Ramirez composed the mass in 1963 and 1964. His first inspiration for writing a religious work came in the 1950s, when he was an unknown musician living in a monastery in wurzburg, germany. There he met the sisters elisabeth and regina bruckner, who told him that a manor house in front of the monastery had been a concentration camp during national socialism – only a few years earlier – and that they brought food to the prisoners night after night, even though it was punishable by death.

The courage and mercy of the two sisters moved ramirez deeply and so he dedicated the mass to them, according to a press release. The misa criolla is considered ramirez’s best-known composition and, because of its fame, is considered the most important work of argentine sacred music far beyond the borders of sudamerica.

Guardiola 'heib' on mourinho - supercup still missing for fcb

Reunion brings joy – or not. Pep guardiola had hardly chosen his intimate enemy jose mourinho as an opponent for his first game with FC bayern in the european spotlight.

But the supercup final between champions league winners and european league champions chelsea FC on friday will not only be explosive on the pitch, but also on the sidelines. "It’s about prestige. Our coach will be quite heib," explained president uli hoeneb on the trip to sunny prague.

The trickiest personnel decision guardiola wants to make only on match day. "Bastian is doing better. I hope he can play. He’s an important player for us," the coach said of midfielder schweinsteiger, who injured his right foot in a 1-1 bundesliga draw against SC freiburg. The 29-year-old took part in final training at eden stadium. Philipp lahm would probably be the first alternative in the position in front of the defense. "I have no problem playing in midfield," he said.

“Joyfully we come along…”

Recently, the state secondary school in kulmbach invited to a summer concert in the school gymnasium. Well filled with more than 600 listeners and participants, a varied and stimulating program awaited the visitors there. Under the leadership of music teacher michaela axtner, students from grades 5 to 10 performed and danced.
"Happy we come along…" The class 5b under the direction of juliane furstenau started with a "funky japanese". This showed that it is possible to learn to play the recorder with a whole class at the same time.

Colorful song potpourri

A colorful potpourri of songs in a flute choir, cleverly accompanied by percussion instruments, offered a joyful start. Soloists this evening were christopher ott with a secure and mature tone on the trumpet, as well as lilly hourle, eliciting warm tones from the cello, on the stage. They mastered their pieces with bravura.
Elias hammon thrilled the audience with his beat-boxing performance his class 6g2, who performed the song "probier’s mal mit gemutlichkeit" by max giesinger performed. Soloists in the verses lilly hourle and jennifer nguyen sang with clear, carrying voices.
Many of the songs of the evening were about love, including the well-known title "rolling in the deep" the british singer adele. Annemarie gutilla and franziska pohnl interpreted this with mature voices, accompanied by jennifer nguyen on the cajon. How to get 30 boys and two girls of class 7a to play music at the same time was impressively demonstrated by student teacher michael rossler. Even the instrumental accompaniment to "one in 80 million" the students mastered the keyboard, guitar and drums without any prior private knowledge. The class 5c, together with music teacher michaela axtner, performed "nessaja" in a very emotional way and with practical rhythmic accompaniment by peter maffay, the class 5d made music with boomwhackers "funky japanese" under the direction of josef pensler.
French hits of the group "kids united, which was founded in 2015 as part of a unicef campaign, told of peace and of love in our "sleepy world" had to be given a more coarse value in order to be able to recognize the beauty of the world again.
The french language blended beautifully with the touching melodies. The french teachers ms. Behr and ms. Schwarz supported music teacher josef pensler and the students of choir class 6c in learning the correct pronunciation – after all, french is only taught at the secondary school from the 7th grade onwards. Year 1 students taught.

Schones from ashes

Bettina schardt accompanied the songs on the piano. "Ashes" – from the soundtrack to "deadpool 2 was about the question, if something beautiful can arise from ashes. Veronika ruf, mia bub and amy tittel love to create wonderful music with their already harmonizing singing voices. Amy titel and vinzenz stander performed for the first time as a duo singing the song "stiches interpreted by shawn mendes very emotionally and with full voices.
A highlight of the evening was the performance of a real composer. Tenth-grader vinzenz standner, who says that you have to feel music, proved how strong this feeling is with a self-composed guitar piece and a song he wrote himself.
Principal monika hild surprised the young artist by telling him that she had only received the news that afternoon that vinzenz standner had been named upper franconian secondary school champion in the field of artistic activities. The young man was given a stormy applause by the audience. The school choir raised further enthusiastic gales with the classics "I have a dream", "sound of silence and "love is all around" as well as the dance group under the direction of michael kegelmann, who performed to the title "there’s nothing holding me back" a snappy choreography with artistic interludes was presented. With "now it’s summer" the wise guys’ study seminar brought a smile to the faces of all listeners, because the tips on how to bring summer into the bathroom at seven degrees are fortunately not necessary in this super summer, but just fun to listen to.
The concert was brought to a climactic close with the performance of "alles nur geklauen" by all participants. The piercing drum rhythms of the music inclination group gave the title the right momentum. Finally, on behalf of all the teachers and pupils involved, principal matthias hohn thanked student councilor michaela axtner, who made the school concert a highlight with her heart and soul and her outstanding organization. "School is more than good grades in math, german and english, and this evening made that clear to all of us", with these words, matthias hohn wished everyone a good journey home.

Forchheim – robert pinzel's (60) career as a swimming instructor was never actually intended. And yet he has been in this profession for the last 37 years. Yesterday he was discharged from the service of the city of forchheim.
At the beginning of his professional life, pinzel's preferred element was not water, but metal. At siemens he trained as a mechanical engineer. Later in the army he worked as a helicopter mechanic. In 1975, he took a different path and passed his examinations as a swimming instructor. For pinzel from forchheim, the change was made for pragmatic reasons: "i was looking for a job close to home". At 21, pinzel was also the youngest swimming champion in germany.
Above all, the "dealings with different people" was what made the job so interesting for the 60-year-old. It goes without saying that some of the encounters were not always pleasant. "Especially with young people, you have to lift your finger sometimes", tells pinzel.
Mayor franz stumpf (CSU/WUO) and head of the pool walter mirschberger praised above all pinzel's integrity. When the decision was made to merge the two pools, criticism arose and "the swimming supervisor also had to take a beating," said the 21-year-old auben, reminds stumpf. Pinzel has always stood by his word "even in the face of headwinds", emphasizes OB franz stumpf. For walter mirschberger, robert pinzel was an important support, above all "because of his professionalism in the planning and implementation of the new swimming pool.
Pinzel is retiring in september and is looking forward to "doing everything without time pressure" together with his wife.

Saarbrucker cirrus airlines files for insolvency

The authority in sulzbach in the saarland, a branch of the saarbrucken district court, confirmed receipt of the insolvency petition. This was justified with the threatening insolvency, said a spokesman.

According to the federal aviation office, the operating license for cirrus is suspended with immediate effect. This means that the airline is no longer authorized to transport passengers, mail or freight in commercial traffic, as the federal office announced in braunschweig on monday. Cirrus airlines had suspended flight operations on friday evening for the time being until the end of this week. Passengers were rebooked, the 300 or so employees continued to work for the time being, cirrus had said.

Meanwhile, several airports served by cirrus are concerned about the future of the airline. The munster/osnabruck airport, from which cirrus flies to stuttgart, is paying for it. "This is a connection that is important, especially for the regional economy," said an airport spokesman. He attributed the early withdrawal of cirrus airlines to the air traffic tax introduced at the beginning of 2011.
